Hybrid Work Model

SLC Management operates in a hybrid environment with a mix of in-office and virtual work where our employees are empowered to do their best. Generally, employees are expected to work three days in-office each week with flexibility depending on their business, client and team needs.

Job Description:

The position encompasses all aspects of financial and investment analysis for new global private debt investments and portfolio management of existing private infrastructure debt investments. The Infrastructure debt team oversees a portfolio of CA $8B and finances major infrastructure projects globally.

What will you do?

  • Contribute to new business volume objectives by assisting with the sourcing, analyzing and structuring of investment opportunities that demonstrate an acceptable risk/return profile;

  • Evaluate potential investments for portfolio suitability by conducting company and industry research, comparable analysis and due diligence, including integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors

  • Negotiate terms and structure of investments with borrowers and legal counsel to mitigate risks and enhance returns

  • Prepare detailed written investment recommendations

  • Complete assigned portfolio management responsibilities including consents, investment monitoring reports, quarterly investment monitoring requirements and credit ratings

  • Maintain in-depth understanding of current market trends and activities;

  • Develop expertise, track, and become the go-to person for identified key growth infrastructure sectors;

  • Maintain accurate transaction records to track deal flow and progression through the transaction lifecycle;

  • Work on a cross-functional basis with other teams at SLC Management

What do you need to succeed?

  • Self-motivated and focused, with precise attention to detail

  • Up to 5 years of experience in either infrastructure investing, private debt, private equity, public credit investing, private equity, and/or investment banking.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics

  • An understanding of fundamental investment analysis and/or project finance, with solid financial modeling and valuation skills, gained in a transactional, analytical, or credit role

  • Proficient with Excel – comfortable with financial modelling

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build constructive relationships with internal and external parties

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written

  • An ability to balance competing priorities, work independently, meet tight timelines, and thrive in a high-performance team environment

  • Detailed knowledge of fundamental principles of debt and equity markets and instruments

  • Understanding of legal documentation

  • Comprehensive skills in interpreting and analyzing financial statements

  • Collaborative and collegial attitude

Preferred skills:

  • MBA and/or CFA considered an asset

  • Experience with Bloomberg

Salary Range

84,000/84 000 - 131,500/131 500

The Base Pay range is for the primary location of the job.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
