Job Description

What is the opportunity?

RBC is seeking a motivated self-starter to join its Enterprise Model Risk Management team, where you will be a key member of the Governance team helping with the identification and onboarding of models into the internal model inventory system. You will work with various stakeholders across different businesses and regions, providing guidance and training to ensure the model risk policy is understood.

What will you do?

  • Work with Model Business owners to identify models and provide model documentation walkthroughs for internal teams and vendors
  • Perform updates to Model Risk Management documentation e.g Model Standards, Model Materiality Guidelines and Model Identification Guidelines
  • Work with first line of defense to assess and perform model and classification reviews
  • Update training courses and host training sessions for first and second lines of defense
  • Work with Third Party Risk to ensure models are correctly identified in any vendor products used by the Bank
  • Develop a strong working relationship with project stakeholders

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Masters degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, detail orientated and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience
  • Experience developing or validating models and a strong understanding of the regulatory environment for Model Risk Management
  • Proficient in Excel and experience in other software applications
  • Proven ability to work across organizational boundaries in a multi-stakeholder context

Nice-to-have

  • Experience working in a global financial organization
  • Experience in reviewing financial statements
