The incumbent will work alongside Red Cross staff to deliver a high quality of service to clients of the program.
In this role, you will:
- Provide support to the Meals on Wheels staff by carrying out various administrative duties, including:
- Taking calls from clients and volunteers;
- Assisting in scheduling volunteers for their delivery routes;
- Data entry and electronic filing;
- Assist experienced volunteers to deliver meals to clients.

What we are looking for:
- Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
- Registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year
- Intending to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year
- A student in a post-secondary program
- A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Able to multitask in a busy work environment
- Familiar with basic computer functions, such as email
- Experience using databases and Excel is an asset
Working conditions:
- Please note that there is no relocation package for this position.
- This position requires a valid provincial driver’s license, and First Aid certification (training provided).
- Duties are principally conducted in an office environment that is clean and comfortable, located at the Etobicoke branch (Dixon Rd & Martingrove).
- Hours of work are based on 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
- The successful candidate for this position must be available to work a flexible work period, some evening and weekend work may be required.
- Domestic travel within the Greater Toronto Area may be required.
