Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications – Admission Services, the Assistant Manager, International Digital Marketing and Communications (AM- IDMC) is responsible for ensuring that the University of Guelph meets its international enrolment and revenue targets. The incumbent manages digital communications for undergraduate international students from inquiries through to enrolment, supporting and nurturing a strong inquiry and applicant pool of committed and well-qualified international students.
Working within the marketing and communications team, they will collaborate specifically with members of the International Team in driving strategic thoughtful leadership, data-driven marketing and digital recruitment proposals. They will collaborate on the conception, development, formulation and dissemination of content across internal teams, vendors, channels, and target markets. They will participate in international recruitment and admission communications initiatives and support both a content strategy and demand generation to attract and engage prospective students as they move through the enrolment funnel.
The incumbent will provide development and support during the application cycle for CRM portal maintenance and database administrator duties for the International Recruitment and Admissions team, customer relationship management system content, with an understanding of analytics and optimization, maintenance and development, and implementation of training and management of student staff.
The incumbent is organized, detail-oriented and requires a strong ability to write for the web.
They will understand the value of relationship building and brand tracking. They will stay abreast of current trends in branding, media and technology and will successfully collaborate with contacts in several student service and academic department areas, implementing ideas and feedback into high-impact digital projects that are strategically aligned with the University.
Requirements of the position include:
- a university degree in marketing or communications and two years related experience in communications and digital marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- knowledgeable in AODA regulations;
- exceptional written and verbal communication;
- proven supervisory experience and the ability to train and motivate student staff;
- critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills;
- professional judgement;
- excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability;
- understanding of the University’s undergraduate recruitment and admission cycle;
- strong technical skills and knowledge of customer relationship management systems (i.e. Slate), content management systems, Drupal, Google Analytics; search engine optimization; social media platforms.
