Adecco Professional has partnered with our longstanding client and is looking for top talent for an Assistant Manager Benefit Operations job opening in Toronto, Ontario. As the Assistant Manager Benefit Operations, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day support, mentoring and training to the benefits team including the benefit administrator(s) of the programs. You will work closely with the analysts, IT and other staff to document and improve operational processes. Your expertise in operational processes and collaboration with various stakeholders will be essential in improving business efficiency and productivity. Please note that this is a full-time, permanent, onsite opportunity.
Some of the responsibilities of the Assistant Manager Benefit Operations job opening in Toronto, ON include, but are not limited to:
Support and mentor administrative staff, including benefit administrators of non-equity groups, providing guidance and training as needed.
Collaborate with the Analyst, IT, and staff to document and enhance operational processes.
Develop, document, update, and maintain administrative systems and processes in collaboration with IT and the analyst, ensuring improved efficiency and productivity.
Ensure process documentation is up-to-date and accessible to all in the shared benefits drive.
Work closely with the Analyst and senior staff on data extracts for third-party reporting, policy renewals, design/benefit changes, and ad hoc requests.
Monitor, identify, and resolve operational issues, as well as streamline and enhance departmental processes in coordination with claims adjudication staff.
Collaborate with the Analyst to provide senior staff with vetted claims data required for legal requests, escalated member reviews/complaints, etc.
Assist staff in resolving new, complex, and difficult member issues, with assistance from claims adjudication and senior departmental staff.
Assume secondary triage responsibilities for sensitive or unresolved issues, with support from senior departmental staff.
Provide support and oversight in the area of Accident administration, as required.
Participate in industry events and assist senior management in implementing best practices based on industry knowledge.
The requirement for the Assistant Manager Benefit Operations job opening in Toronto, ON include, but are not limited to:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in benefits administration in a unionized environment
Strong understanding of operational processes and systems, with the ability to collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to improve efficiency.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate documentation and data integrity across multiple systems platforms.
Effective communication skills to provide direction, respond to issues, and maintain consistent messaging with insureds/applicants.
Ability to develop and implement benefit administration policies, procedures, and protocols in line with contractual obligations and industry standards.
Proficiency in utilizing systems platforms such as Cerberus, Genelco, and Claimsecure.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior staff members.
