Job Description:
The Assistant Category Manager will join a team of others reporting to the Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing. The Assistant Category Manager will be deeply involved in conducting analysis to support category strategy development and execution. They will actively contribute to supplier engagement and strategic supplier relationship management. They are required to have strong analytical skills with extensive experience using Excel to conduct quantitative analysis, create and maintain category insights using multiple sources of data and provide recurring and ad hoc complex analytical assignments to the category management teams. The Assistant Category Manager will also be required to conduct detailed supply market analysis and create category and supplier profiles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
What You'll Do:
Strategic Sourcing (1-3 years of experience)
· Use detailed market analysis to create scenarios regarding potential market development. Use insights from market analysis to support stakeholder innovation, to mitigate risks for customer
· Support the development and execution of category management strategies, processes, and events for assigned categories/sub-categories
· Executing category management strategies and the strategic sourcing process to drive savings and efficiencies
· Actively developing and managing strategic supplier relationships while managing risk and compliance through contracting
· Conducting complex sourcing baseline analysis and assessing category benefits and key performance metrics
· Conducting comprehensive supply market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities
· Analyzing supplier bids and proposals conducting advanced, multivariable cost regression analysis
· Familiar with advanced cost and price analysis that use multi variable regression techniques
· Experience using e-sourcing tools to help manage RFx Events & Suppliers (Ariba, Jaggaer & Office Trax)
· Preparing and assessing potential sourcing scenarios
· Support other special procurement activities and analysis as needed by senior management
· Managing internal customers and accounting for their needs while resolving difficult issues in a timely manner
What You'll Need:
· A minimum of bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business Management
· 1-3 years relevant experience (including financial reporting/analysis, complex analytic/problem solving experience)
· Previous experience within category management or strategic sourcing in a retail environment (preferred)
· Previous experience with SAP, Ariba, Fieldglass and Office Trax would be an added advantage
· Proficient with MS Office (specifically Excel, PowerPoint)

Communication Skills
· Strong organizational, verbal communication and writing skills
· Ability to present clear ideas and outcomes from analysis back to the customer / stakeholder
· Fluent in English (written and spoken)
