Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Risk Reporting & Monitoring, the Analyst, Risk Reporting & Monitoring will be accountable for developing tools to process data to facilitate reporting and monitoring the risk of the total fund. The Analyst will also contribute to prototyping new data visualizations and developing BI capabilities.
What you will do:
Develop tools in Python to process data to support the reporting and monitoring of investment risk of the total fund Develop procedures to maintain a robust code base that follows best-in-class practices and standards Support the development of new risk measures and reports by designing new data visualizations to provide insights into the risk of the Fund Assist in the daily production and distribution of risk reports Enhance existing workflows and processes through automation Leverage strong analytical capabilities in investment risk analysis and excellent writing and communication skills to ensure analysis is communicated effectively through risk reports Foster continual innovation and thought leadership by leveraging state-of-the-art industry intelligence and in-house risk expertise across the Risk Division
** Note: This is a 12-month contract position.
What you bring:
Minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience in the financial industry, preferably experience in a risk management department
Graduate degree in Finance, Math, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
Excellent writing, editing and problem-solving skills
Possess strong technical skills. Programming knowledge is required, Python is preferred.
Possess strong quantitative skills. Knowledge of machine learning / big data is an asset
Able to independently develop data visualization prototypes
Knowledge of risk management, derivatives and quantitative/statistical techniques
Strong interpersonal skills with solid verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with a team, while also being self-motivated and able to work independently
