This temporary position is for 5 days per week for 14-15 months
We are looking for an organized and professional Accountant II to join Intact’s Financial Operations team. The Accountant II should have the ability to be a strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills. He/She should demonstrate the ability to present improvement opportunities and propose recommendations. Being autonomous with strong organizational skills are essential to this role.
Key duties include:
Prepare reconciliations of Bank and General Ledger accounts in a timely manner.
Analyze banking and insurance operation transactions to verify accuracy.
Investigate discrepancies and follow up with internal departments and the Bank.
Make recommendations for process improvements on an on-going basis, as well as streamline processes.
Participate in projects related to area of expertise and any adhoc requirements presented.
Perform banking transactions for all Intact companies, such as bank transfers, inter-account transfers, check verifications and accounting entries.
Assist in preparing and providing documentation for the interim-audit and year-end audit.
Serve as a backup to the team for routine time sensitive tasks.

Education & Experience
Bachelor degree or diploma in accounting with a CPA designation.
2 to 4 years in a similar position working with complex reconciliations.
Skills & Knowledge
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (advanced Excel)
Excellent analytical skills and ability to solve problems systematically, providing effective and timely solutions
Creative problem solver, self-motivated, driven and willing to learn
Strong organization skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
Outstanding communication skills are a must
Biligual (French and English)
