The accountant is responsible for all finance and accounting related functions in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment. Duties include financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, Accounts payable, government tax remittances, audits, ad-hoc reports for management and managing various ongoing and upcoming systems conversions.
Key Job Functions/Responsibilities
Month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reporting (Journal Entries, analysis)
Monthly balance sheet reconciliation using Blackline system (preparation)
Federal and provincial sales tax returns
Accounts Payable processing of vendor invoices (Oracle). Vendor set-up and GL coding
Prepare wire forms for non-CAD$ currency AP wire payment forms
Intercompany transactions, liaising with other Broadridge business units (U.S., U.K and India)
Ad-hoc reporting for management
Basic Skill Level Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting
CPA designation or enrollment in CPA program is an asset
Experience:
Knowledge of full-cycle accounting process
Manage projects to successful completion
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Skills:
Excellent time management, communications, organizational and decision-making skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Work with little supervision
High level of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines
Possesses key attributes that promote the ability to work with individuals at all levels within an organization
Excellent computing skills, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook
Solid knowledge of accounting procedures
Knowledge of securities industry preferable
Tools:
Proficiency with Oracle (GL and AP) and Blackline system is an asset
