St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University invites applications for an Academic Physician to join the Division of General Internal Medicine. This is a full-time faculty position for a period of three years (renewable). Academic rank will commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will be a full time member of the Division of GIM and is expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculty and Division. This position is predominantly a clinician educator position and we are looking for an individual who has demonstrated experience in teaching or clinical research.
Applicants will have completed training in Internal Medicine. A combination of clinical, research and educational activities will be undertaken. Training in quality as it relates to Hospital Health Care is essential, preferably as part of a formal MBA.
Clinical activities will include in-patient General Internal Medicine ward service, and out-patient clinics both rapid access and longitudinal. The successful candidate will be a full-time member of the Division of Internal Medicine and will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculty and Division. The successful candidate should also have interest in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching in general internal medicine, quality and measurement.
Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
