McMaster University, in conjunction with Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a full-time academic Burn Surgeon. The HNHB LHIN (4) Burn Program serves a catchment area of more than 2.5 million residents. The service provides tertiary and quaternary level care to patients within the catchment area. The Hamilton General Site houses the Regional Burn Unit, and the Regional Trauma Centre.

The ideal candidate must possess comprehensive clinical skills in acute pediatric and adult burn care, as well as burn reconstruction. They should demonstrate strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities, along with the initiative to enhance the clinical and academic output of the Burn Program. A dedication to surgical education and research at all levels is crucial, as is active involvement in the academic initiatives of the Plastic Surgery Division and the Department of Surgery. Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD or those with a keen interest in pursuing further training in this field. The successful candidate will hold a full-time appointment in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Applicants must have a Fellowship in Burns, Certification in Plastics or General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada,or equivalent,and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario.
