Job Description

    What is the opportunity? 


    You will assist a team of Data Scientists, Engineers, and Analysts in performing Risk Analytics through partnering with Operational Risk stakeholders to assess and document business requirements and evolving needs. The role requires a combination of business and technical skills to ensure Operational Risk monitoring and Management needs are effectively being met.

    You will assist a team of Data Scientists, Engineers, and Analysts in performing Risk Analytics through partnering with Operational Risk stakeholders to assess and document business requirements and evolving needs. The role requires a combination of business and technical skills to ensure Operational Risk monitoring and Management needs are effectively being met.

    What will you do?

    • Partner with Operational Risk Subject Matter Experts to understand their needs and ensure requirements are being met
    • Assist in the documentation of end-to-end project requirements
    • Create use case, data catalogue business rules, and documentation, as well as contribute to reporting and process improvement
    • Create and perform QA tests for software changes
    • Manage a moderate number of applications (i.e., business rules, processes, etc.) to be able to provide solutions and support during production problems
    • Identify application deficiencies and provide/recommend solutions to the support team and the business
    • Assist with the transition of projects from development to support
    • Conduct accurate and timely investigations when issues occur

    What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have

    • Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
    • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Experience working with and developing Tableau dashboards (or other relevant dashboarding tools)
    • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
    • Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Capability to manage multiple priorities across a number of assignments and prioritize effectively
    • Motivated and analytical, with strong achievement orientation and attention to detail
    • Understanding of Risk Assessment & Quantification methodologies
    • Experience creating process documents

    Please note: This posting is for a 8-months Fall 2023 Student placement with a start date of September 2023, and end date of April 2024. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

    • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2024 ; or
    • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2024), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
