About This Opportunity
In this role you will be responsible for the National development, organization, deployment, administration and monitoring of all Health and Safety programs within Distribution, Warehouse, Sales and Merchandising. You will focus strategically on prevention and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety within Route to Market activities. Yo will observe, provide mentorship and assess the level of HSE culture for the H&S Managers reporting to you. You will also ensure thorough implementation and execution of HSE related programs and processes as well ensures all H&S programs comply with company and regulatory requirements within the assigned regions. You will be reporting to the Director, HSE and Security.
Responsibilities
- The National Health, Safety and environment Manager is responsible for the development, organization, deployment, administration and monitoring of all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs together with the HSE team.
- Focus strategically on Prevention. and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety
- Ensure thorough implementation and execution of HSE related programs and processes as well ensures all HSE programs comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct assessments to identify potential hazards or impacts and establish controls to mitigate risks. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, and prepares appropriate reports.
- Define Training needs and develops and conducts employee training programs for all HSE programs
- Business Liaison to the MOL, MOE, Fire Department and Insurance Company and otherregulatory agency as needed
- Provide HSE technical expertise in the crisis management team as required
Qualifications
- Minimum years of 5 years HSE experience and minimum of 1 years' experience managing people
- Post-secondary education – Diploma or Degree in a program relating to safety preferred, CRSP designation a definite asset.
- Acts as change agent to drive cultural change and inspires others to action through collaboration and influence
- Ability to travel to support operational needs, conduct site visits, audits as required, etc.
- Must be a team leader who leads by example and act as an owner
- Working knowledge of a variety of provincial HSE regulations required.
- Strong computer and software skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and email programs.
