Nature and Scope
Reporting directly to the Director, Project Management and Continuous Improvement, the Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement is responsible for rolling out the CI program, providing training, process expertise, process guidance, change management leadership and coaching to ensure adoption of the Continuous Improvement mission across the organization.
In collaboration with Business Unit Leads, this individual will have an innovative and strategic mindset to drive and deliver Operational Excellence. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing new programs and ways of working that encourages, recognizes, and rewards innovative thinking. The incumbent will be able to initiate and builds effective relationships with colleagues in other departments, leveraging strong interpersonal and influencing skills to support and develop effective cross departmental relations and work initiatives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the design of future state processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive results impacting SHN and improve ways of working across the organization.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to evaluate existing processes, identify pain points, and develop strategies for improvement.
- Lead and facilitate process improvement project portfolio, ensuring effective project management, adherence to timelines, and successful implementation.
- Build and lead the discipline of CI through training and education.
- Initiate and build effective relationships with colleagues in other departments, leveraging strong interpersonal and influencing skills to support and develop effective cross-departmental relations and work initiatives.
- People Management to support and deliver on change management and adoption across the organization.
- Design and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operations, reduce risk, and increase overall effectiveness
- Support end-to-end process evaluation, look for improvement opportunities, plan and implement approved changes.
- Develop SOP’s, WI, process flows, time studies and data mining to look at improvement opportunities within existing processes
- Oversee documentation of the business processes to be used for continuous improvement activities within Specialty Health Network
- Supporting development of Management Systems (process controls, metrics & reporting, training, etc.)
- Develop process models to better understand how upstream and downstream processes integrate with Operations
- Facilitate sessions to review integrated processes with key stakeholders, partners in the business and process owners
- Proactively provide solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation is required
- Develop value stream maps to identify wastes and areas of improvement
- Support strategic process improvement opportunities and coordinate with key stakeholders
What you will need:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant Process Management experience.
- 5-7 years Project/Process Management/Training Experience
- 5 + years of experience in process optimization, operations, change management, transformational change, or business management
- Certification in Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma green belt an asset
- Facilitation skills to lead large groups through complex processes and projects
- Ability to take initiative, multi-task, manage through ambiguity and be adaptable
- Excellent time management, organizational, and a keen attention to detail are required
- Strong business acumen and the ability to apply concepts and theories to improve functions with an understanding of the overall impact to the business
- Experience / knowledge of Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology and tools including, FMEA, root cause analysis, process design and modeling, process measurement analysis, process optimization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, and ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment
- Strong computer and presentation skills (Microsoft, Viso, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure, with changing deadlines and priorities
- Healthcare/Pharmacy/Specialty experience is an asset
