DEPARTMENT: Career Development Centre
SUMMARY:
The Career Development Centre is looking for a student assistant to assist the office in various tasks. The student will be required to work up to 15 hours per week to work on short-term projects and assist with general office tasks. In order to provide effective and efficient services it is expected that the student will be flexible in terms of hours of work and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact regarding internal and external relations.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Update materials in resource library
- Assist in organizing, archiving, and storing files and resources
- Assist in researching employer contact information
- Assist with short-term projects, marketing initiatives and events
- Other administrative tasks and duties as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Positive attitude, reliable, and flexible with hours
- Marketing and/or event experience an asset
- Organized and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work unsupervised and amongst a team
- Basic knowledge and skills of office computer applications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
All students will be expected to adhere to the same policies and procedures as departmental staff including confidentiality. A breach of these policies and procedures would result in immediate termination of the student placement agreement.
*Salary Information
Student Assistants are paid as per the following:
Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) – BC Minimum Wage
One year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) – BC Minimum Wage plus 8%
With a post-secondary diploma or degree – BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
