POSITION OVERVIEW
The Account Manager, Virtual Business Centre is responsible for maintaining client relationships in the small and steady business segment by phone or electronically, with a view to fostering business development and repeat business. The location may be across the province of Ontario.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Develop and implement a customer relationship retention/growth strategy to build a long-term profitable loan portfolio with existing clients while providing a high level of customer service.
Identify and develop new business opportunities for financing and consulting with focus on developing existing portfolios.
Manage a portfolio mix of borrowing companies, ensuring effective relationship management.
Develop and execute an individual marketing plan to ensure alignment with VBC strategy and portfolio objectives while meeting financial objectives related to the forecasted loss rate, profitability, revenue growth and retention of clients.
Use sound credit judgment to ensure high-quality loan proposals that represent acceptable risk levels and are in line with established standards and within the parameters of accepted credit practices and BDC policies and procedures.
Analyze, negotiate and prepare high-quality loan proposals by applying thorough credit analysis, due diligence and sound account management practices.
Keep abreast of changes to policies, procedures and processes.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor degree in commerce or business administration
An experienced banker with 3-5 years of experience with proven sales skills that has a passion for entrepreneurship
Demonstrated strength in business development and customer relationship management skills
Sound credit judgement coupled with a strong understanding of credit policies and practices
Ability to identify business opportunities for entrepreneurs who will benefit from the unique range of BDC services (financing and consulting)
Thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies and procedures
Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on results
Team player with a thorough understanding of the dynamics of the small business environment
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Bilingualism (English & French) may be required depending on the location
