POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Director, Learning and Development, the Advisor, Learning and Development will contribute to the delivery of learning and development at BDC and support national projects by collaborating with various stakeholders and business lines.
Drawing on your experience in adult learning and development, you will contribute to the needs analysis, instructional design, production and deployment of innovative learning solutions. You will monitor new trends in learning, particularly technological innovations and working methods, to put them at the service of projects and increase the efficiency of the team.
As part of project management, you will work in collaboration with the team's Senior Advisors, and you will be responsible for building trusting relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to guide them in identifying content, as well as influencing them in decision-making and prioritizing educational objectives to be achieved, by ensuring integration between them. You may also be asked to make virtual and in-person presentations depending on the project.
As a member of the Human Resources team, you will also contribute to our talent offering and ensure alignment and consistency of all initiatives with other key HR projects, our culture and expected behaviors.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Using your expertise in instructional design and interpersonal skills, build trusting relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and experts to influence instructional strategy, decision-making, and goal prioritization.
Analyze training and development needs.
Design, produce and deploy learning solutions.
Advise our internal partners by identifying the potential impacts of the proposed solutions and adapting your approach according to the needs and context.
Manage training projects effectively by ensuring decision-making at the right level and integrating the appropriate stakeholders according to the needs of the project.
Contribute to the development of practice by keeping you up to date with the latest trends and approaches to learning and technological innovation in instructional design.
Contribute to the development and analysis of measures of the impact of learning strategies.
Facilitate engaging virtual and in-person workshops, applying best practices in adult learning.
Proactively manage a network of external and internal partners and vendors to implement targeted initiatives.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in human resources, apprenticeship, career development, communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Mastery considered an asset.
4 to 6 years of experience in learning and development, mainly in the design, production and deployment of training solutions (synchronous and asynchronous online, classroom, supporting documentation, knowledge base) in an organizational environment, particularly in large organizations (banking an asset), on both technical and behavioral skills.
Experience in managing training projects, and in managing multiple stakeholders.
Good working methods in instructional design and project management.
Mastery of authoring software such as Rise (Storyline an asset).
Interest and ability in research and the use of technological innovations in instructional design, including artificial intelligence.
Excellent sense of priorities and strong interpersonal skills.
Teamwork, adaptability, tolerance of ambiguity, autonomy.
Experience in facilitation (an asset).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
Ability to align skills and development with organizational strategy and desired culture.
