Adecco Engineering and Technical Recruitment is needs an IT Desktop Support (Student) for our Mississauga based client. This position will be responsible for providing Information Technology (IT) technical support at the local operational level. Resolves entry level technical issues to the company’s end point devises and conducts routine technical assignments and projects for the IT Department under supervision. This position will be a first responder to address and support issues related to the local operational IT systems, desktops, printers and client support. Coordinate and assist with hardware and software upgrades at the local operational level. This position will be an 8 month contract.
QUALIFICATIONS - IT Desktop Support (Student):
- >1-3 years of systems administration job-related experience is required.
- Currently enrolled / recently graduated from post-secondary in an IT related program
- Experience with Windows 10
- Help Desk background and understanding
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with desktop applications and hardware and phone systems
RESPONSIBILITIES –IT Desktop Support (Student):
- Provides Tier 1 desktop support
- Provides general and specialized desktop, telecom, application, and infrastructure support (i.e., desktop, cabling, printers, hardware, software, LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN)
- Provides telephone and e-mail support to all assigned sites using various tools and after-hours support as assigned
- Maintains desktop hardware and peripherals inventory within the asset management system in accordance with established process and procedures; assists with desktop hardware and peripheral asset refreshes and in the end of life process of retired equipment
- Assists with small projects on a local operational level
- Deploys related mobile devices and software
- Facilitates support of multi-function copiers and printers (will likely coordinate with a 3rd party) Evaluates vendor products in hardware, software and telecommunications equipment and provides recommendations as needed
- Recommends add-on technologies and customizations to Company software systems to provide efficiencies to business operations
- Writes clear, concise, and accurate documentation and provides training (i.e., work procedures, how to guides)
- Protects all Infrastructure systems from unauthorized access (i.e., MPLS, WAN, Wireless, PBX)
- Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
