The Opportunity:
The Manager, Supply Chain and Fulfillment oversees a team supporting the Supply Chain for our customers including the order management and fulfillment processes. This role collaborates with the customer to ensure that we are enabling Maple Leaf’s growth strategies by providing the highest level of service (on time and in full), while relentlessly pursuing process and supply chain efficiencies, to deliver our products to our consumers at the best value possible. This entails collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to optimize the customer order process, deliver service level commitments, increase palletization, and proactively mitigate distressed sales.Any MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by November 27. Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Manage a team supporting the order management and fulfillment processes for assigned customers, ensuring that orders are entered, confirmed, and shipped according to customer requirements and service level expectations.
- Responsible to deliver world class performance on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fill rate/On Time and In Full (OTIF), customer fines, order cycle time, unitization, forecast accuracy. Lead projects that proactively look for continuous improvement opportunities within MLF’s Supply Chain and Fulfillment systems and processes.
- Create a culture within the team that prioritizes innovative ways of working to improve our delivery of customer satisfaction as top priority.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, internal departments, and third-party logistics providers, and proactively communicate and resolve any issues or opportunities that may arise.
- Act as the primary contact for the customer’s supply chain leadership to drive strategic and/or process changes across MLF’s supply chain.
- Analyze customer demand patterns, inventory levels, shelf life, and forecast accuracy, and provide input and recommendations to the demand planning and supply planning teams to optimize the supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
- Negotiate with customers on the allocation of inventory that has dropped below minimum remaining shelf life and ensure that the inventory is utilized in a timely and profitable manner.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team, providing them with guidance, feedback, and support to achieve their performance goals and career development.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards, as well as with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs.
What You’ll Bring:
- Post-secondary education in business, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, preferably in the food industry.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in leading and managing teams.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices, including demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and logistics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making competencies
- Ability to remain composed and adaptable while juggling multiple demands and performing under pressure.
- Customer-focused, results-oriented, and collaborative mindset, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
