Adecco is actively seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer for a full-time position in Brampton, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating refrigeration systems, specifically ammonia plants, and ensuring all related equipment is functioning efficiently and safely. - Operate ammonia plant in compliance with TSSA regulations.
- Monitor Life Safety Systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment, including air compressors, ammonia compressors, condensers, evaporators, and fans.
- Inspect and maintain refrigerant pumps, air units, fans, and ammonia condensers.
- Maintain water treatment levels to prevent corrosion of wet-side equipment.
- Conduct minor repairs to refrigeration equipment and related machinery.
- Service HVAC rooftop units, ensuring proper heating or cooling, and replacing filters as necessary.
- Clean ammonia condenser tanks and HVAC condensers.
- Monitor and adjust ammonia condenser and water softener systems for optimal performance.
- Perform basic facility maintenance and PM routines as directed by the Chief Engineer.
- Follow departmental policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and safety in all operations.
- Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Ammonia Operator or Shift Engineer, preferably in a warehouse or industrial environment.
- Certification: Certified Refrigeration B or A, or 3rd Class Operating Engineer, is required.
- Additional certifications in Refrigeration Mechanics or Millwright are an asset.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHSA), WHMIS, and food plant regulatory standards (CFIA, GMP, HACCP, BRC) is an asset.
- Strong electrical and mechanical skills to perform maintenance tasks effectively.
- Analytical thinking with strong problem identification and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with team members, management, and tenants as needed.
