What you’ll do
The Transportation Development & Support (TD&S) Team’s objective is the timely delivery of reliable, robust, and accurate systems for our Transportation clients. TD&S delivers process improvement initiatives and technology solutions to increase Transportation capacity, improve service levels, reduce costs and drive better decisions.
We are looking for an individual excited about creating technological solutions for complex real-world problems. This Programmer Analyst will be responsible for designing and developing the business software that is used to improve business decisions in a high-performance international shipping network
Perform analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation activities in order to support goals and objectives of the assigned initiative, including satisfaction of documentation requirements.
Collaborate closely with the Business Analyst side of the team and external client groups to drive efficiencies and better decision support for Transportation.
Help document the functionality and collect requirements
analyze user information system needs and develop logical and physical specifications
Research, evaluate and recommend solutions and appropriate technology to meet user's needs.
Program the computer by encoding project requirements in computer language; entering coded information into the computer.
Provide reports, manuals and other documents on the status, operation and maintenance of applications
Adhere to strict deadlines in support of project implementations and designs
Contribute to the development, maintenance and support of sustainable applications.
Act as a change agent or subject matter expert for change initiatives
Define, develop and govern data ingestion and transformation processes using market best practices.
What you bring
1-5 years’ experience in a Programmer Analyst role
Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline
High proficiency in the following languages/development tools:
C# with ASP.NET, MVC, Web Api,
HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Angular/Vue/React,
Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL
ETL tools such as SSIS, and Nifi
Bitbucket Git, IIS, Jira
Demonstrated experience in development of multi-tier applications
Demonstrated experience in database design.
Demonstrated ability to analyze client needs and deliver successful solutions that meet both client and IT requirements
Experience with SDLC using formal methodologies (Agile, Scrum, waterfall, etc.)
Knowledge and interest in industry best practices regarding software development standards and practices.
Understanding of Supply Chain processes an asset
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
