Ambassador Program

What is the Ambassador Program?

Pride at Work Canada’s Ambassador Program was established in Montreal in 2014 to drive local execution of Pride at Work Canada’s national strategy and more effectively engage Pride at Work Canada’s Regional and National partners in the province of Quebec. Following several years of success, the program expanded to Calgary in 2017 and continues to grow.

Ambassadors are representatives from Pride at Work Canada’ National and Regional Partners who work closely with Regional Leads to support the development of events in the region and engage in the sharing of best practices and to support greater LGBTQ2+ workplace inclusion.

Why be an Ambassador?

Ambassadors have the unique opportunity to be part of a network of established and emerging leaders in their region who are working to advance LGBTQ2+ inclusion in their respective workplaces. Ambassadors help their employer to maximize the benefits of National or Regional Partnership with Pride at Work Canada.

Specific benefits include:
• Expand personal and professional networks
• Share best practices
• Discuss the challenges facing employers from a regional perspective
• Actively engage in shaping Pride at Work Canada initiatives in a specific region
• Ensure that employers maximize the value of National or Regional Partnership with Pride at Work Canada
• Obtain valuable skills required to obtain senior volunteer roles on advisory committees and governance boards
• Have a lot of fun!

How to become an Ambassador?

Each of Pride at Work Canada’s National and Regional Partners has the opportunity to participate in the Ambassador Program. We invite every Partner to identify individuals from their organization to apply. Partners experience the highest return on investment (ROI) when their employees are meaningfully engaged in Pride at Work Canada’s mission from coast to coast.

Each partner may nominate up to two individuals per city. The program is currently offered in the following cities:

Calgary, AB
Halifax, NS
Montreal, QC
St. John’s, NL
Vancouver, BC
Victoria, BC

If your employer is not currently a National or Regional Partner but you are interested in supporting Pride at Work Canada’s mission in your local city, we encourage you to reach out to your nearest Regional Lead about opportunities for involvement.

If the Ambassadors Program is not currently offered in your city, please contact Pride at Work Canada’s Director of National Strategy, Kimberley Messer at kdmesser@ca.ibm.com to inquire about opportunities for engagement.
