Led since 2000 by President and CEO, Darren Entwistle, TELUS provides a wide range of communications products and services including wireless, data, Internet protocol (IP), voice, television, entertainment and video.

Commitment to diversity

The partnership with Pride at Work Canada established in early 2009 has accelerated TELUS’ journey to create a fully inclusive workplace and be an employer that models respect, openness and equitable opportunity for its team members, customers and communities alike.

TELUS has a long-standing commitment to diversity and inclusiveness and is honoured to be named, for the third straight year, one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers. This year’s list pays tribute to 45 organizations in Canada that have developed exceptional diversity initiatives to promote inclusiveness, such as Spectrum, TELUS’ LGBTQ employee resource group.

Vision for the future

Our world is rich with diversity. At TELUS we believe the diversity of our team is a significant competitive advantage and we value the contribution and worth of each and every team member.

We work together, unified by our respect for each other, the TELUS values, and the pursuit of our business strategy. Diversity and inclusiveness thrive when we honour and leverage the traditions, beliefs, lifestyles, abilities and perspectives of all members of our team.

I am proud to work for an organization that is deeply committed to the LGBTQ community – internally and externally. For example, Spectrum has grown dramatically in the last two years, thanks in large part to the support of TELUS leaders, our team members and our Diversity & Inclusiveness Office and Council. Today, we have four chapters and over 320 members across Canada.

In 2010, TELUS launched Caya, two communications and entertainment technology stores in downtown Vancouver that welcome everyone while being tailored to the LGBTQ community and its allies.
