LGBT Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) provide safe spaces for employees to meet, support each other and talk about issues related to LGBT inclusion in their workplace. Having an LGBT ERG is integral to any organization’s ability to create an inclusive environment. Even though about three quarters of large Canadian employers have these groups many of them don’t have an established strategy and lack access to a budget or other resources, resulting in a missed opportunities for employers.
Facilitated by Pride at Work Canada Executive Director Colin Druhan, this interactive workshop will explore established best practices for forming and sustaining effective LGBT ERGs and provides a roadmap for ERGs to move beyond social engagement to true cultural change in a variety of employment environments.
