Are you a wireless hardware geek who loves learning about new devices?  Are you curious to learn more about who is buying each of our leading devices, and how are marketing programs are influencing customer choices?


The Bell Mobility Hardware Planning & Strategy team is currently looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Reporting and Analytics Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Hardware Planning and Analysis, you will use multiple internal and external data sources to analyze sales performance at the device level, across all channels and geographies.  These analyses and reports will help us tailor our marketing programs to succeed with prime prospects and target markets, and will help us optimize our roadmap and merchandising decisions for future launches.

Job Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Build and deploy reports that give decision makers visibility on key device-level trends across the Bell/Virgin business including sales channel mix, demographic profiles and switching/upgrade behaviour between models/manufacturers
  • After socializing these reports and confirming their usefulness, partner with Business Intelligence teams to determine what can be automated and lead the project plan to automate these reports
  • Investigate and understand external data sources that may provide insight into consumer and market trends, and make recommendations on how they can be leveraged to address Bell/ Virgin business needs
  • Lead ad-hoc analyses when questions arise on issues that cannot be addressed with standard reports.  Learn from these analyses to determine whether standard reports need to be adapted to address evolving business needs
  • Stay on top of market trends and news related to Android and Apple handsets, and supplement these news stories with data analytics to explain what this means to Bell/Virgin
  • Assist with ad-hoc data requests that may come from SVP/VP stakeholders as well as external teams such as handset manufacturers
  • Partner with stakeholder teams to recommend business strategies and tactics which maximize ROI, and drive processes to track progress against goals  


Critical Qualifications:

  • Extremely strong attention to detail as proven in past school or work experience
  • A university degree, professional certification or designation is preferred, specifically in, Marketing, Finance or Statistics
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions


 Essential Skills/Competencies:

  • Passion for telecom and wireless technology
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable with short deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities
  • Ability to quickly foster relationships with other departments within the organization
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
