Team and position highlights:

Bell's Network3.0 mandate is to transform how Bell rapidly delivers the best customer experience through software innovation in the Telco Cloud.

At the forefront of the Network 3.0 transformation, our Network Service Orchestration (NSO) team is responsible for developing and operating software solutions to manage and orchestrate our SDN (Software-Defined-Networking) and NFV (Network Function Virtualization) enabled intelligent network in real-time.

We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated and enthusiastic Product Owner to guide the development of our Network Service Orchestration (NSO) network software platform. As the Product Owner, you will design, maintain and prioritize the feature/story backlog, manage dependencies between features, and ensure the quality and delivery of the product.

Working in a highly technical ecosystem combining advanced Networking and Software complexity, you will work with business product managers, software architects, network architects, network operations, software developers and DevOps specialists to maintain a highly technical and value-focused backlog that can be understood and executed by the development teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (business product managers, software architects, network architects, network operations, software developers and DevOps specialists) to gather and prioritize requirements.
  • Drive and maintain the NSO Epics/Stories backlog (both user-centric and technical backlogs), resulting in a groomed and prioritized backlog with clearly defined acceptance criteria
  • Communicate the backlog and ensure it is fully understood by the delivery teams
  • Distribute the backlog across multiple scrum teams for delivery.
  • Enforce the definition of done / ensure completeness of the stories delivered by the team
  • Plan and manage the goals, scope & timelines of sprints, milestones & releases for the NSO platform.
  • Promote continuous improvement


Critical Competencies:

  • Minimum of four (4) years as a Product Owner, Product Manager or Business Analyst.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience with Agile methodologies
  • Relevant technical knowledge in both telecoms networks and IT software development to drive a technical story backlog in the SDN/NFV network orchestration space.
  • Ability to drive the introduction of agile and DevOps methodologies within the team.
  • Strong aptitude for innovation; can recognize opportunities for improvement in day-to-day work and take appropriate actions; an enthusiastic individual who can act as a change agent
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to conceptualize and think abstractly, and work and manage in a technically complex environment.


Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience and technical knowledge of Software-Defined-Networking and/or Network Function Virtualization orchestration, a strong asset.
  • Experience working within open source communities
  • Knowledge and/or expertise with the open source networking landscape on projects such as Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP), Opendaylight (ODL),, OPNFV or Openstack.
  • Experience with Jira & Confluence

Bilingualism (English and French) required.
