Hiring Manager: Benoît Des Côteaux
Workplace: Anjou (7101 Jean-Talon E)As a business analyst, you will play a leading role in demand management (initiatives) and delivery of portfolio projects.
Gather and document requirements:
Lead requirements gathering with the business for projects and initiatives.
Assess, understand, analyze, challenge and document business requirements.
Leverage your understanding of the business processes and applicable systems through an effective requirement gathering.
Develop and formalize activities list for gathering requirements and estimates.
Secure the participation of key stakeholders.
Develop documentation pertaining to business requirements gathering and secure formal business sign-off.
Actively participate in project change request governance and cost/benefit analysis for projects with Project Managers.
Requirement analysis and solution development:
Analyze business requirements and document the functional specifications and business process changes.
Participate with architects and technical specialists into translating business needs into solutions.
Represent the business owners and users when facing ITSD colleagues and ITSD when facing business owners and users.
Solutions assessments and tests (QA control):
Establish, document and plan test cases aimed at attesting that deployed solutions will live up to established business requirements, standards & practices.
Run test plans and document results.
Secure the participation of key stakeholders and run, validate and confirm that deployed solutions meet and comply to agreed upon business requirements.
Change management, communication and documentation:
Along with the Project Manager, ensures appropriate communication, change management and expectations management with the business.
Liaise with other teams impacted by changes as required, including with the Helpdesk Business Analysts.
Write, review and recommend changes on documentation (ex. user guides, policies, system documentation and training documentation in order to facilitate users training, as well as the integration of new processes and technologies within the current operations.
Develop and/or update the training material, and train those who will be providing training.
Minimum of 5 years experience as an IT business analyst in an innovative environment within a large organization.
University degree in Computer Science or related fields.
Strong written and verbal communication skills: French and English.
Experience in IT Services related to End User Computing: Windows 10, O365, Lotus Notes, VPN access, VDI Citrix New Farm, laptop, desktop. Thin Client, OS IGEL, etc.
Ability to work in an ever-changing computing environment and with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to communicate technical terminologies in non-technical language and vice versa.
Skills sought: Integrity, respectful, committed, responsible, customer and results oriented.
Knowledge of the insurance sector: an asset
