What is the opportunity?

You will lead and manage the technology research, planning, design, development and implementation of diverse and highly complex Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) (e.g. Archer) used across RBC Enterprise (RBC BU/FU/GU areas). Moreover, you will lead the GRC IT group and oversee IT development/delivery of GRC programs and projects to ensure strategic goals and objectives are accomplished within approved time frames, scope and budget.

 

What will you do?

  • Ensures the GRC IT systems being delivered meet the strategic direction of the Risk and Security Services (R&SS) GRC business sponsor and RBC GRC line of business stakeholders; provides technology thought-leadership and strategic solutions that enhances and supports business processes and enables R&SS Functional Unit in achieving their goals.
  • Leads team of IT professionals and provides coaching/mentoring to build management/leadership capability on the team, manages performance, reward and recognition.
  • Provides leadership and expert counsel in establishing and implementing standards, guidelines and best practices for the development and deployment of solutions.
  • Works with Architecture and various Business partners to enhance the overall technology strategy and to achieve business alignment and strategic business objectives.
  • Participates and contributes in the definition of overall systems architecture to support the business objectives and to ensure that there is a consistent use of technology and architecture.
  • Develops operating plans, establishes priorities and staffing requirements for current and future years.
  • Champions strong IT governance through PMF and SDLC execution and delivery; Overall Governance & oversight of projects and management documents.
  • Champions the creation of metrics and manages with a higher level of information i.e. at the trends and management indicator level; differentiates between project and program metrics.

 

What do you need to succeed?

  • Must-have
    • 8-10 years of experience in managing a portfolio of applications that span multiple business units/ functions and impact across the enterprise, high to very high/serious business risk involved
    • Experience managing budget greater than $5MM (systems development, vendors and capital)
    • Deep knowledge of GRC applications, relevant technology and industry best practices
    • Able to facilitate schedule and cost forecasting and mentors program/project managers in determining risk based provisions.
  • Nice-to-have
    • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience
    • PMP Certification or equivalent experience
    • Knowledge of IT Standards, Methodologies, CMM and audit requirements
