What is the opportunity?

The RBC Dominion Securities branch in White Rock, BC is looking for an Associate to work in a successful private-client discretionary portfolio management group. The successful candidate will perform daily administrative functions in a punctual, professional manner while executing tasks related to the general communications, events, and marketing related projects.


What will you do?


  • Open new accounts, update existing accounts, Follow-up on clients’ requests and transactions. Ensure clients’ accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation
  • Liaise with back office to investigate and resolve inquiries related to accounts
  • Conduct various administrative functions as required including the review of incoming mail, answering telephone calls. Print Reports and distribute accordingly. Stay up to date on changing operational procedures and utilize contact management system for daily task management
  • Service clients in a pleasant, professional manner. Build and maintain a professional rapport with clients


  • Assist with marketing (website maintenance, assisting with events and responsible for marketing material).  Proactive marketing initiatives. Assist in preparing mailing such as seminars, newsletters, and information packages
  • Involvement in client appreciation initiatives
  • Proficiency in creative writing. Writing reports, team brochures and similar documents. Compose and post online content on the team’s website and social media accounts


What do you need to succeed?


  • Excellent command of English language and telephone manner.
  • Exceptional client service skills.
  • Attention for detail and Strong organizational skills to successfully multi-task and change priorities mid-stream, as required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Work, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience in the financial industry



  • Knowledge around Dominion Securities systems an asset
  • College/University Degree (Degree in Finance, Economics or Marketing is an asset)
  • Experience in marketing is an asset
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Codes & Practices Handbook (CPH) is an asset.
